Amelia Rodolf, Michelle Lim, and Shivani Kumar join TKL

TKL welcomes undergraduate students Amelia Rodolf and Michelle Lim, as well as graduate student Shivani Kumar to the lab.

Amelia Rodolf is an undergraduate student studying Bioengineering at UCLA. She is a member of the UCLA Biomedical Engineering Society’s Cell Team and enjoys dancing and exploring new places around Los Angeles. She is an enthusiastic learner with an interest in the medical applications of molecular engineering. Amelia plans to pursue a career in biomedical research and hopes to develop new technologies to improve the quality and accessibility of healthcare.

Michelle Lim is an undergraduate student studying Computational and Systems Biology at UCLA. She is an active member of the Association of Indonesian Americans, and involved in the Association of Chinese Americans and Asian Pacific Health Corps (APHC). She plans to attend medical school after graduation, and her research interest is using computational and biochemical methods to develop accessible and point-of-care diagnostic tests. In her free time, she enjoys going out with friends, and discovering new shows to watch.

Shivani is a bioengineering master’s student at UCLA. She has a B.S. from UC Davis in biomedical engineering. Before joining UCLA, Shivani worked at a biotechnology start-up in San Francisco that was focused on automating laboratory protocols. She is interested in point of care diagnostics for infectious diseases and determining drug susceptible/drug resistant species in order to provide more personalized care for infectious diseases. Shivani is passionate about healthcare accessibility, public health, and pandemic preparedness. In her free time, Shivani enjoys exploring new restaurants and cool spots in Los Angeles, traveling, painting and cooking.
